Introduction to Language Education Level 1, Beginner

The following supplemental teaching material is provided for these reason:
  • To help improve the student's reading, speaking, and critical thinking skills by broadening their vocabulary & common expression to use.
  • To encourage students to put ideas on methodical method.
  • To acquaint the students with important & current events around the world.
  • To help students express their opinion clearly & in a correlated manner using examples to support their ideas. 
This method is especially good for Beginner-Intermediate students who are modest user of the English language. The introduction to vocabulary, its meaning and usage gives the students more idea on how to play around with everyday words. The questionnaires encourages and help the students to practice making up sentences. This gives the teacher the chance to give a timely feedback and suggestions.

Lesson 1 Food
1. food

any nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink, or that plants absorb, in order to maintain life and growth. example: "we need food and water"

2. break·fast
/ˈbrekfəst/ (noun)
a meal, eaten in the morning, the first of the day. example: "I often have a toast for my breakfast"

3. brunch
brən(t)SH/ (noun)
a late morning meal is eaten instead of breakfast and lunch.

4. din·ner*
ˈdinər/ (noun)
-the main meal of the day, taken either around midday or in the evening.
-a formal evening meal, typically one in honor of a person or event.

5. sup·per/ˈsəpər/ (noun)
an evening meal, typically a light or informal one. example: "we had a delicious cold supper"
(British: a light meal or snack that is eaten late in the evening)

food that provides consolation or a feeling of well-being, typically associated with childhood or home cooking.

Sentence Building: Question: What is your favorite food?
Example Answer: I like to eat Fish and Chips.
Fish and Chips are my favorite.

2. How many meals do you have in a day? What time do you commonly have your meals?
3. How does hunger feel? Do you think it is healthy to skip meals?
4. Is hunger a national issue, what is your opinion? What can you do to help?
